Join our community!
A membership to University Recreation & Wellness provides access to award winning RecWell facilities and programs. RecWell membership is open to all faculty/staff, students, and those affiliated with the University.
Community members not affiliated with the University are welcome to take advantage of our Body Composition Testing, Youth & Community Programs, TerpQuest Summer Day Camp, Learn to Swim programs, and Instructional Classes & Certifications.
To enroll in RecWell membership:
1. Visit the Eppley Recreation Center Member Services Desk
2. Bring your photo ID and form of payment (credit card, check, Apple Pay, Google Pay). The Member Service desk is not currently accepting cash.
UMD requires individuals to follow current UMD guidance regarding covid-19.
UMD students paying the full student fee package have access to RecWell facilities and programs during the summer, fall, and spring semesters using your UMD student ID card. Students not paying the full student fee package must purchase a non-registered student membership.
Typically students taking in person, on campus classes are paying the full student fee package. Hybrid and/or online classes will not pay the full student fee package. Questions about this can be directed to rowhb@umd.edu.

Those wishing to join the Outdoor Aquatic Center for a summer pool membership may purchase an individual or family membership. The membership is valid Memorial - Labor Day.
Faculty/staff are also able to visit RecWell School of Public Health facilities, Severn Building Fitness Center, and Intramural Sports as a Limited Access Member. Limited Access Members (LAM) do not have access to other RecWell facilities or programs. Those wishing to join as a LAM member may enroll with University ID at the ERC Member Service Desk or any of the above facilities.
Those with an active UMD Alumni Association membership may purchase a RecWell membership. Community members wishing to join RecWell must first affiliate themselves to UMD by purchasing an Alumni Association membership.

University of Maryland Global College students and faculty/staff are eligible to purchase RecWell membership by showing campus ID or class schedule.

Through the MPower partnership, UMB students and faculty/staff, who are active members of University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB- URecFit) have reciprocal access rights to University Recreation and Wellness at no additional fee.
University of Maryland Baltimore Alumni may purchase alumni access to RecWell access at alumni rates. RecWell memberships are not available for UMB spouses/ partners/ dependents.

Students taking classes at the Universities at Shady Grove are not paying the on-campus student fee and do not have automatic RecWell access. Students may purchase RecWell access by paying the UMD College Park student fees to the Office of Student Services at Shady Grove.
To gain RecWell access:
- Email Michelle Gordon Marcellino the Director of College Park Programs at Shady Grove at msgordon@umd.edu.
- In the email confirm that you are interested in the RecWell membership, you understand what the charges are, and are agreeing to pay.
- Michelle will give you the stamp to approval to register for the membership, and you will be charged the associated fee.
Terrapin Masters Swim Club is a U.S. Masters swim team hosted by University Recreation & Wellness at the University of Maryland. Students, faculty/staff, alumni and members of the community may join. Active masters members may also join RecWell full membership at the affiliate rate, more information on Terrapin Masters swim program may be found here.
UMD Departments and special affiliated groups may request RecWell access to programs and facilities by filling out the special access request form. Pricing is based on access length and current student and faculty/staff membership pricing.
Each RecWell member may sponsor 1 guest per visit Monday through Thursday and 2 guests per visit at Friday through Sunday.
- Guest passes are $10/ per person ages 6 years and older and $5/ per person ages 0 - 5 years old.
- All guests must be present at time of guest pass purchase with photo identification (+16 yo).
- All members must enter and exit the facility with their guest(s).
- Guest passes are valid for the date of purchase only and may not be transferred or refunded.
- To accommodate families, a RecWell member may sponsor 3 minor dependents (- 18 yo) and 1 dependent (+18 yo).
