Esports

Compete. Create. Connect.

Terps Esports serves as the home of esports and gaming on the University of Maryland, College Park campus. We serve our students and surrounding community by providing various competitive avenues, fostering student development in and out of gaming, and helping students find a sense of community through one of the world's most prolific recreational hobbies.

List of Current Teams

Terps Esports has the following competitive rosters, with academy and premier rosters.

  • VALORANT (Co-Ed and Game Changers)
  • League of Legends
  • Rocket League
  • Overwatch

Who can compete?

All full-time University of Maryland, College Park students are eligible to compete on our rosters.
League rules allow part-time students to compete, only if it is their final semester of their undergraduate career.

How do I compete for Terps Esports?

Tryouts are hosted annually in August for all rosters, and are open for any UMD student to try out. Coaches can elect to host spring invitational tryouts in January if deemed necessary.

Tryouts are announced in our Discord server.
